Why do red ants bite ?


When an ant bites you using its stingers, in order to protect or defend themselves from their predators, it injects formic acid. When the formic acid   comes in contact with your skin, acid being corrosive in nature,  gives a burning sensation which makes us feel that the ant has bit us. 


 

But, the bite of a red ants are generally more painful than the bite of black ants.
