What does SOS mean?

SOS is a distress signal. It originates from the Morse code which represents letters of alphabet by dashes and full stops, to communicate from a distance. Assume that you are trapped in an island where there is no sign of human civilisation and you need to be rescued, at these crucial situation SOS signals can be life saving.
